Doug Circle knows how to pull together a team that delivers. He listens to his customer to conceive the vision, then, in his words, “hires great people, and then gets out of the way.”

With Doug’s confidence and authority in their expertise, they get things done. Per one employee, “Doug makes us feel like we own the company. We always come away with a great feeling of accomplishment.”

In the case of Sierra Madre Vineyard, he has many expert teams – management, viticulture, winemaking and administration.

Management - When Doug and Jan purchased the vineyard, they allotted a small portion to their children as well as to several key members of the Sunrise Growers-Frozsun Foods, Inc. management team. Doug was excited to include them in his new venture, and to take advantage of their tried and true working relationship and agricultural expertise.

Vineyard:  The vineyard team has been in place since December, 2002. Many of the team members, including its leader, Rodolfo Callado, have been around since before Doug Circle’s ownership. Rodolfo’s history with the ranch, and in international grape growing are invaluable.

Winery: Winemaker Steve Rasmussen and his team have been together for years, as well, providing the basis for the results for which Steve is known.  They’ve watched the maturation of Sierra Madre Vineyard, and are excited for the opportunity to get their hands on some of the fruit.

Doug Circle and his administrative and accounting team have worked together on other ventures and bring this experience to provide a solid foundation for growth.

The common thread that ties these four teams together is the belief that Sierra Madre Vineyard is an ideal combination of soil, climate and history. All are excited to contribute to that potential and steward its next chapter.
