Sara Brewer : National Sales Manager
With more than 20 years of experience in the restaurant and wine business, as a buyer, sommelier, and sales executive, Sierra Madre Vineyard National Sales Manager, Sara Brewer brings a unique interest and appreciation for the history, culture and tradition of fine wines.
Like others before her, Sara Brewers love for wine and the business thereof was fostered in restaurants. Starting as a bus girl in a hometown restaurant in SC, she gradually moved up the ladder to management at top DC Restaurants, Primi Piatti and I Matti. She then spent five years as Sommelier/Wine Buyer at two of the country’s most acclaimed hotel dining rooms: at Washington DCs Hay Adams Hotel, and Louis’s Charleston Grill at Charleston Place Hotel.
In 1995, the Chalone Wine Group was looking to expand their presence in the Southeast market, and saw in Brewer the skill set required to maintain a front line presence with the wineries key clients and distributors in the region. Then in 2005, Diageo acquired the Chalone Group, and Brewer was offered and accepted the National Sales Manager, Southeast Region, position at Chalk Hill Estates. She went on to work with two boutique wineries, Small Vineyards LLC of Seattle, WA and Krupp Brothers Estates of Napa, Ca.
The appointment as Sierra Madres National Sales Manager is a dream come true for Brewer, who added, “From my first visit in 1989, I have always regarded the Central Coast as California’s finest area for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Living and working here and being part of the extraordinary Sierra Madre Vineyard is the most exhilarating and compelling opportunity of my career.”
Tasked with assuming control and direction of Sierra Madres National Sales function, owner, Doug Circle, is confident that the results Brewer has achieved in the wine business and the level of professionalism she brings to the winery will produce immediate sales.
