CHARDONNAY
2009 SIERRA MADRE VINEYARD CHARDONNAY, SANTA MARIA VALLEY
The result of the long 2009 growing season in this ideal coastal locale is a rich wine with considerable texture, superlative natural acidity and loads of fruit. On the nose, fresh tropical fruit aromas are accented by creamy apples and pears with a hint of vanilla. In the mouth, enjoy the essence of Sierra Madre’s unique fruit—rich, mouth-filling flavors of crisp citrus fruit with a delicate, balanced finish. Sierra Madre’s natural acidity will allow this wine to age gracefully and improve for an exceptionally long period.
2008 SIERRA MADRE VINEYARD CHARDONNAY, SANTA MARIA VALLEY
Cherimoya tropical fruit aromas and hints of vanilla and fresh meringue, are driven by the Dijon clonal selection and the French oak barrel aging. On the palette, there is mouth-watering,crisp citrus, followed by ripe apple and a Bosc pear finish. This is one of the best examples of a Burgundian style Chardonnay the Central Coast can offer.
A rich shellfish dish, such as steamed fresh lobster with drawn butter is a perfect pairing for this Chardonnay.
